About Me

Tara Neray Jewellery is born out of the ashes of Slashpile Designs, which was operating successfully from 2008-2024. Where Slashpile Designs was all about clever concepts and stories, Tara Neray Jewellery is about creating a visual aesthetic and a desire for a free-er personal expression. I've been a metalsmith for over 15 years! I am the creator of the original Dog-Human Best Friend necklace, which went viral in 2019. My mission is to make jewellery pieces that will brighten your day and add happy pops of personality to your outfits. I learned the art of vitreous enamel and fell in love with the vibrant colours that I can achieve with this technique. I care about the environment and use recycled materials whenever possible, including gemstones that have been rescued and reclaimed from jewellery that was being melted down for the metal, as well as scrap or recycled metal whenever possible. I’m mother to a 4-year-old kid, a retired racing greyhound and a formerly feral cat. I make jewellery by hand in the basement studio of my quirky and colourful home in Toronto. Pieces are made in sterling silver or copper enamel, and I occasionally take on fine jewellery commissions in gold. I love making special pieces that will make you smile.
